Worship in Music
Music is important at First Coast Baptist Church.
We enjoy a healthy variety of music styles and selections. It is not unusual to hear a modern praise and worship song, a southern gospel song, and a hymn arrangement in the same service. It is varied, but focused. Music and public worship is directed at moving people toward closer communion with the Lord in the service. We also aim at clearly presenting the gospel, and the story of what Jesus has done for us in the singing. What better way to praise God than in a song!
Worship and music involves touching hearts, and is joined hand-in-hand with the preaching of God's Word. Authentic worship is scripturally sound, appropriate for God's house, and aimed at blessing lives and pointing unsaved people to the cross.
Whether it is in the preschool choir, the elementary choir, the teen choir and praise team, the adult choir, or the orchestra, there is a place to serve. Weekly rehearsals for all these groups, and others, are focused, not only on the songs which will be performed, but fellowship and encouraging believers in their walk with the Lord.
